NEW CHAPLIN FILM

COMPLETION ANNOUNCED Charlie Chaplin's new picture, " Modern Times," is finished, and had its world premiere in New York on October 11. It is a satire on life in an up-to-date factory, with Chaplin as an employee who does nothing hut fix one screw. One day he drops the screw and the whole factory is disorganised and Charlie is thrown out of work, to undergo more curious adventures outside. There i* a musical accompaniment, but no dialogue. It is four years since Chaplin produced his last picture, " City Lights," and two years since lie began "shooting " " Modern Times." His leading lady is Paulctto Goddard. Fredric March, among others, has a high opinion of her as an actress. She has an extraordinary gipsy-liko qualify, ho says.
