|THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE ) FALL IN RESERVE BANKS A more confident tone was evident bn the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and offers were advanced for many issues. Others, however, were poorly supported and Reservo Banks sold at £6 7s 6d, a fall of Is 9d and tho lowest price since August, 1934. There was further weakening in offers for the shorter-term 4 per cent stock, but the 1955 issue was wanted 5s higher. Sales were made in 1940 stock at £lOl 15s. n fall of ss, in 194G, unchanged, at £lO5 ss, arid in 1949, at £lO5. a fall of £3 ss, on tho cum interest price. Except for the decline in Reserve Banks, the banking section was fairly steady. Australasias had sale 2s 6d lower at £ll 2s 6d, while New Zealand* were done unchanged at 50s 3d, and later at 50s Gd. South British Insurances gained 3d in dealing up to 88s 9d, and firmer tendencies were noted in New Zealands and Standards. Further improvement was recorded by Farmers' Tradings, which made a fnil gain of 3d' in sales at 7s 2d, 7s 3d and 7s sd. Dunlop Pcrdriaus were done at 15s lid and iss 4d, a gain of 2d, and jnore were wanted at 15s 6d. Broken Hills, after falling 3d to sell at 545, recovered in business at 54s 3d, and buyers closed firm at 54s 6d.
