VERDICT OF SUICIDE
A verdict of suicide by poisoning was returned by Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., coroner, when the inquest into the death of Thomas Lowe Stevenson, an old-age pensioner, who was found dead in his room in St. Paul Street, City, on October 3, was concluded. Evidence was given that deceased had recently come out of hospital and had been in poor health since then. He had been in distressed circumstances for a fortnight prior to his death. -
