OBITUARY
MR. WALTER P. MARK [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION] STRATFORD, Thursday The death has occurred of Mr. Walter Patrick Mark at the age of 68 years. He had been a resident of Stratford for the past 40 years. Born and educated in England, Mr. Mark spent several years in Spain, where his father was a British consul. He came to New Zealand when 2-1 years of age and secured largo farming interests, which ho operated most successfully. He is survived by his wife and two children.
MR. G. H. LEMON [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE PUKE, Thursd»y Tho death occurred at To Puke last evening after a long illness of Mr. George Henry Lemon, aged 83. Mr, Lemon was the eldest son of the late Captain Lemon and was born in Now York. At an early age he went to Victoria, Australia, and came to New Zealand with his parents in 1864 to settle in Tauranga. At tho ago of 13 MrLemon joined the Militia as a bugler in the First Waikato Regiment. He saw service in the Maori War at the Gate Pa, Tauranga, Poverty Bay and other parts of the Bay of Plenty. Later ho took a keen interest in mining, working 10 years in tho Karangahake gold mines. Finally Mr. Lemon purchased a farm at Paengaroa, To Puke, where ho resided until his death. Ho is survived by Mrs. Lemon and four daughters.
