TENNIS IN WAIKATO
F. W. LUCAS AT HAMILTON There is considerable satisfaction in Hamilton in knowing that F. W. Lucas, well known as an All Black footballer and a tennis player of no mean ability, will be continuing his activities there in tho latter sport this season. There is no doubt the entry of a player of his calibre will add intorest to local competitive play. Other Waikato clubs outside Hamilton are also looking forward to successful seasons and Matamnta supporters are particularly jubilant about Miss N. Beverlev being invited to visit Australia with a New Zealand ladies' team. Such an invitation shows tho standard of .tennis in the Waikato compares favourably with other centres and it is hoped that in tho coming season, perhaps, other local players will score successes in some of the major tournaments.
