PACIFISTS
Sir, —R.E.B. certainly has a high opinion of Italy, and from his point of view its attack on Abyssinia is justified, and comparing it with our own great events in creating an Empire, he is right, but before commencing should the dictator not have seen the reasons for Britain's interest in this old and honourable kingdom? To allow the Italians to conquer Abyssinia would, and will be sootier or later, most detrimental to Empire interests, and Britain must be congratulated that its peace policy is being carried out, in waiting for the League of Nations to act, and if a conflict comes of this action no one can blame our Motherland and its supporters. For years Britain has striven to get the other Powers to disarm, but only made an exhibition of the lamentable weakness we stand in to-day, hence the actions that have been resorted to. Mind you, Great Britain can fight its battles to-day, as it did of yore, and it asks nothing from its children, unless they give freely, for its own stock will as in the past, fearless and formidable. Why should we question actions from Great Britain? We have always been well treated, far and away better than we reciprocate; but when our shoe pinches we cry for help, for wo are helpless without our Motherland. If a man will not make a fight for his country, he will not fight for his God, for He rules, and man's puny actions are, and must be, the way to achieve the desired end. There are only two things worth while, liberty or'death I. Apricixy.
