DIOCESAN SYNOD
ANNUAL SESSION CLOSES WORK FOR YOUNG. FSOPflj,, After sitting for four days, the Auckland Anglican Synod concluded < its annual session last night. The following finance committee was set up, in terms of an amendment to the financial regulations statute, to report annually upon applications for grants toward the stipends of parochial clergy:—Archdeacon W. J. Simkin, the Rev. R. J. Stanton, the Bev.; Houghton and Messrs. J. B. Lusk, E. D. Wilkinson, C. Hay and W. Skegg. The Rev. R. L. Connolly was elected to represent the synod upon the diocesan executive committee of the New Zealand Anglican Bible Class Union. The synod adopted a motion by',the Rev. W. W. Averill, commending a "Youth for Christ" campaign to be held next year from the beginning of. Lent until August. Tho mover 'stated that it was intended to send emissaries into all parishes and parochial districts to assist in an effort to promote the work of the Church among ■ youns people and particularly to counteract the tendency of many confirmees to drift from contact with Church life.
