OFFICIAL OPENING
TE POI TENNIS CLUB A perfect day and a record attendance marked the official opening of the Te Poi tennis courts on Saturday. A Yankee tournament, which was won by Miss V. Gubb, of Okoroire, was played during the afternoon. The ceremony of opening the courts was performed by Air. Settle, who commended the energy of those who had undertaken the laying of a third court this season. A feature of the proceedings was an exhibition match in which the three Misses Beverley, well-known championship tennis players, of Matamata, took part. Among those ladies present were: Mrs. Brazendale, Mrs. Thornton, Mrs. Whitcross, Airs. Settle, Ail's. Atkinson, Mrs. White, Mrs. E. Gubb (Okoroire), Mrs. T. Makin (Piarerc), Miss T. Hancock (Hinuera), Miss M. Carruth (Okoroire), Miss Hancock (Hinuera), Miss H. Hardwic-k (Okoroire), Miss K. Taylor (Piarere), Miss J. McLaren (Okoroire), Miss M. inman (Piarere), Aliss E.
