Irving Berlin, famous composer, lias made such a success of the music ior '■ Top Hat " that lie has been given a contract for more pictures. His next job will be the music for the new Fred Astairo-Ginger Rogers picture, " Follow the Fleet."

Margot Grahamo is to play a leading part in the now Katharine Hepburn picture, " Sylvia Scarlett." Production will not start for a few weeks. Katharine Hepburn has still to finish " Alice Adams," and Margot, meanwhile, is to play in " The Three Musketeers." Mrs. Patrick Campbell will also bo in " Sylvia Scarlett."

Gladys Swarthout will play the lead in " The Life and Loves of Victor Herbert." She is a newcomer to the screen and a former star of the Metropolitan Opera House, Now York, and later a piomiitent radio personality. Victor Herbert wrote, among many others, the operetta from which Jeanetto Maotlonald's " Naughty Marietta " was adapted.

Claudottc Colbert, just finishing " Private Worlds," has pictures flooding on her. First announcement was that she would make " If You Could Only Cook." Now another film is likolv to precede this. It will be " A Bride Comes Home," from a novel by Elizabeth Holding. Fred Macmurray will be her leading man in " A Bride Comes Home." This pair made such a success in " The Gilded Lily " that Paramount is repeating the dose.

Edward G. Robinson is to set his wish after all. For a long time it lias been sai.l that lie will play Napoclon in a film. Now Warner's are to make I lie film. The story should be authentic. Kinil Ludwig, famous biographer of Napoleon, helped to write it.

Clive Brook is now in London. He in going to appear in the Associated Talking Pictures film " London Symphony," a story by H. M. Harwood. the playwright who wrote tho dialogue for Garbo's " Queen Christina." After this Olive Brook will probably make a picture for London films.

Joan Crawford has a contract which calls for three pictures a year. This year she has made " No More Ladies.' and " If You Love Mo " is nearly finished. Joan's third is now planned It will be entitled " Elegance," and will co-star Clifton Webb. " The Garden of Allah." rumoured for her, has been shelved.

Walter Abel, a New York stime actor, is to play the part of D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers." This seems to be the final choice, though there have been endless changes and rumours. The rest of the cast will include Paul Lukas as Athos, Onslow Stevens as Aramis, Moroni Olsen (New York stage) as Porthos, Heather Angel as Constance, Ralph Forbes as the Duke of Buckingham l and Rosamond Pinchot as the Queen. And, of course, Margot Grahamo as Milady.
