HOBSON RELICS

Sir, —While visiting the exhibition of antiques, I' noticed a chair that was in use at Government House in Captain Hobson's time, about 1840. It might be of interest to your readers to know that a kauri bedstead, with wooden castors, said to bo the property of Captain Hobson, is still in existence in Auckland; as far as can bo ascertained it passed through only three hands before it came to the present owner. Unfortunately it was cut down about 2ft. to accommodate it to a low ceiling. It is in a good state of preservation and bears few marks of its service sinct thoso early days of New Zealand history. Antique.
