RULES OF GOLF
LOST BALL PENALTY REIMPOSITION DEFEATED (Received September 25, 6.15 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 24 The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, at the annual meeting, overwhelmingly defeated Sir Ernley Blackwell's proposal to revert to the old principle of "lost ball, lost hole' in match play. Overseas representatives said the new rule was working well in the respective countries. The contention that the penalty of the loss a hole for a lost ball was inequitable was practically unanimous.
