EPSOM GIRLS' GRAMMAR

HEADMISTRESS' LEAVE

A decision to recommend the' Education Department to grant the application bv Miss A. L. Loudon, headmistress of the Epsom Girls' Grammar School, for a year's leave of absence , was made at a meeting of the Auckland' Grammar School Board yesterday afternoon.

In a letter to the board Miss Loudon asked for the leave to commence on April 1 of next year. She stated that v her object was to travel overseas to gain an added knowledge of education in girls' secondary schools. She said sho = particularly desired to study the teaching of history, and vocational courses and to inquire about broadcasting and mechanical aids to education.
