ANGRY CENTENARIAN

FIRE RESCUE COMEDY WOMAN RESENTS INTRUSION When fire was noticed in a house in Gvmpie, Queensland, recently, a young man living near by burst open the door of a detached room, in which ho knew Mrs. E. H. Bubbers, aged 103, was sleeping, and awakened her. Mrs. Bubbers showed marked resentment of the intrusion. She refused to believe that the house was blazing, and declined to leave the room, declaring that the young man's entry into a woman's sleeping apartment in such an unseemly way was an outrage. The would-be rescuer was abashed, but a fireman arrived, and, lifting the struggling and protesting woman in his arms, carried her to safety. She was later admitted to Gympie Hospital suffering from shock. Mrs. Bubbers' third marriage took place two years ago, when she was aged 101. Her bridegroom was 78 years old.
