SWEET YOUNG VOICES

BOYS FROM VIENNA CHOIR VISITING SYDNEY Eighteen little boys in long blue suits with gold buttons, knelt at the altar rail of St. Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, recently. They then rose and stood together. The choirmaster waved his hand. Worshippers at their devotions were suddenly aware of a sweetness of sound throughout the cathedral. The young choristers of the visiting Viennese Boys' Choir had commenced to sing. > The worshippers at St. Mary's were not, however, the first to hear their voices. When the boys arrived at the Central Station by the Melbourne express, the Westmead Boys' Band played the Austrian National Anthem. Porters hurrying with luggage stopped in their tracks, commercial travellers paused on their way to trains when the boys' choir responded, singing " God Save the King." They sang it in English. It is all tne English they know.
