COMING RETIREMENT

The retirement of Mr. E. T. Norrik M.A., registrar of the University of New Zealand, as from September 30, 1936, is announced. Mr. Norris will be granted six months' leave of absence as from March 31.
Mr. Norris was assistant registrar of the University of New Zealand from 1911 to 1914, when he became registrar of Victoria University College. In the following year he was appointed registrar of the university and he has retained the position for the past 20 years. Mr. Norris was born in London in 1870 and was educated at the Christy church Boys' High School and Canter' bury College. For 25 years he taught in secondary schools, including the Timaru Bovs' High School, the Otago Boys' High School, Christ's College, Wanganui Collngiate School and the Ashburton High School. As a young man in Christchurch he took an active part in sport, notably football, cricket and rowing.
