DANCE AT MANGERE
RETURNED SOLDIERS' NIGHT The annual dance arranged by the Otahuhu and District Returned Soldiers' Association for its Mangere members was held in Mangere Last Public Hall 011 Monday evening. The hall was attractively decorated with flags and streamers, and the stage with foliage and flowers. The guests were received by the president, Mr. M. J. Barrett, and Mrs. Barrett, who wore a frock of black georgette. The programme, which included bridge and five hundred for non-dancers, was directed by Messrs. Barrett and W. Best. The winners of the card competitions were: —Bridge: Ladies, Mrs. McLaren and Mrs. Tanner. Men: Messrs. Gardiner and Cowper. Fivfe hundred: Ladies, Mrs. Statham. Men: Mr. Douch. Supper was served by the social committee. Among those present were:—Mrs. W. Best, who wore midnight blue marocain; Mrs. A. Eustace, emerald green georgette; Mrs. H. G. Verrall, brown figured crepe de chine; Mrs. F. Craft, black figured crepe de chine; Mrs. Leslie, black metalasse; Mrs. C. Stanton, navy silk marocain; Mrs. H. P. Lovell, black georgette; Mrs. R. Statliam, black and white checked organdie; Mrs. A. M. Salt, floral ninon; Mrs. J. Tunnell, jade green crepe suede; Mrs. F. Davis, black satin and lace; Mrs. T. Patterson, black georgette; Mrs. A. Stewart, floral georgette; Mrs. E. J. Webb, black angelskin and lace; Airs. E. Kemplav, floral ninon; Mrs. N. Campbell, black satin and lace; Miss K. Gubb, reu satin; Miss Z. Tunnell, apple green suede; Miss C. Billington, ice blue georgette; Miss M. Morton, Marina blue crepe satin; Miss M. Dickson rose pink georgette; Miss Shorroclc, figured marocain; Miss D. Salt, black crinkle crepe; Miss H. Statham, primrose satin and black velvet; Miss M. Patterson, blue crepe marocain; Miss Z. Fisher, blue satin crepe; Miss J. "Patterson, white satin beaute; Miss E. Henderson, figured taffeta; Miss Russell, rose velvet; Miss R. Laxon, red satin; Miss Ratcliffe, daffodil marocain; Miss M. Means, blue crepe suede; Miss B. Newson, green organdie; Miss M. Douglas, black and white satin; Miss J. Williams, flame crinkle crepe; Miss Crooks, blue crepe de chine; Miss R. Stinton, blue silk rayon.
