ELLERSLIE TRAINING

KILTOWYN GOES WELL KELIY'S SIX FURLONGS SCHOOLING OF THE JUMPERS BY ARCHER A sound round by Kiltowyn, a solid six furlongs by Kelly and a strong seven furlongs by Psychologist were features of the training operations at Ellerslie yesterday, when a good deal of work was accomplished in preparation for the Avondale Jockey Club's meeting next week. The No. 1 grass, where tho polos were out 10ft., was available for galloping and the going was slow, being soft on the surface after rain the previous day and overnight. On tho grass On Parade (Holland) strode over four furlongs in 595. He has not been asked any serious questions lately, but is carrying a bright and healthy appearance. Hope Lass (Baker) was slightly in front of Courthaven (Williams) at the conclusion of seven furlongs in 1.38 2-5, the first four in 54 2-ss. Teddy Boy was not doing his best to run six furlongs in 1.24. Red Flame (Tromain) ran the last five of six furlongs in 1.11 4-5 and was going strongly at the finish. She is showing definite improvement and should yet repay J. C. Lainbess for the considerable patience ho has exorcised with her. Korepai (L. Duliou) was going very easily alongside Zano Grey (Stone) at the end of half a mile in 54 l-ss. Ilerepai has settled down well since coming to Ellerslie,. and. although he has not been extended, has boon doing his work generously Fleetwlnd's Hali-mile Express (Buchanan) worked usefully over five furlongs, running tho last three in 42 4-ss. Enlightenment (Connor) and Tidalia (Clifford) sprinted half a mile in 52 3-ss. They finished together and Tidalia appeared to go a little better than usual Fleetwind (Parsons) was timed to run four furlongs in 52 l-ss. Te Broney, Barn Dance and Gay Broney, after running the first three furlongs in 435, fot to the end of six furlongs in .25 3-5. Te Broney was eager to go in the early stages, but they were not after time and were together at the finish.

Psychologist (Gilchrist) went soundly pver seven furlongs in 1.35 2-5, the last six in 1.21 3-5 His latest work has been consistently good, although ne has been very lightly weighted when galloping. Sprint by King Mestor Kelly (Gilchrist) reeled off six furlongs in 1.21 2-5, time upon which he could have improved, as he was loafing at the finish. The four-year-old has been going along attractively and ho will disappoint if he fails to do well iii middle-distance handicaps this season. King March (Goldfinch) encompassed a round in 2.10 3-5, going mvtjnly throughout an<l running the last three furlongs in 45 4-5s Vera Acre strode over six furlongs in 1.27 2-5 and Sir Uomeo finished in front of Vilma at the end of five furlongs in 1.12 1-5. He has not been overtaxed since winning at the Pnkuranga Hunt meeting, but is thriving and should be ready for another good performance when produced again King Mestor (Sargent) sprinted four furlongs in 52 l-5s Vanners and Parkhurst were associated in a working gallop over a round in 2.12. Volition ran the last five of six furlongs in 1.14 2-5. Lady Diana (Manson) was not bustled to run half a mile in 54 3-ss, and Primak (Cammick) completed his work with three furlongs iq 45 3-ss. Hilling King (Stanway) and Chief Emerald (Simpson) jumped four hurdles without mistake and afterwards did strong work on the grass. Tea Chat (Craddock) was schooled over hurdles and fenced cleanly. Parabola (Turvey) was also sent over the hurdles in the middle and gave a good display for a beginner. Lord Val (Craddock) and Delrain (Baker) were responsible for a good exhibition over four hurdles. Delrain " pecked" at one fence, but otherwise they went well, travelling at a solid pace and jumping cleanly. Jalldy Karo (Stanway) was given another lesson over the pony hurdles and fenced carefully Mountain Bruce (Stanway) and Glenhaupo (Turvey) were also ' schooled over the pony hurdles the latter giving a better display than Mountain Bruce, who was inclined to jump high nnd carefully. Gascillo (Baker), after jumping four hurdles in good style, covered seven furlongs on the erass in 1.42 2-5 Kiltowyn (Fearn) went in good style j over a round in 1.57 2-5, the last seven ' furlongs in 1.35 3-5, and the last halfmile in 54 3-ss.
