COUNTRY STOCK SALES

FRANKTON QUOTATIONS .SHEEP VALUES EASIER PRIME QUALITY BEEF FIRM [from oun own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday At the Frankton saleyards to-day the yarding of fat sheep was fully up to that of last week, with wethers not quite so plentiful. Values all round were hardly up to the previous quotations. A heavy yarding of ewes found competition keen only on prime lots, while hoggets sold well at advanced rates. There was a heavy yarding of ox beef, and the entry comprised mostly finished cattle. Prime quality remained very firm, with second quality slightly easier. Cow and heifer beef also was penned in fuller numbers, the market in this section showing an easing tendency toward the close of the sale, this applying also to second quality cattle. Boners showed no alteration in values. Fat pigs were penned in larger than | usual numbers, with values all round showing a slight decline. Stores were also duller of sale, although in most cases vendors were prepared to meet the easing market.
