RABBIT BOARDS' POWER

DEALING IN MATERIALS [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Tuesday Authority for rabbit boards to deal in materials used for the destruction of rabbits is contained in the Rabbit Nuisance Amendment Bill, notice of which was given by the Minister of Agriculture, Hon. C. E. Macmillan, in the House of Representatives to-day. In a subsequent interview Mr. Macmillan stated there had been some doubt as to the power of boards to purchase for resale to farmers poisons and ammunition for the destruction of rabbits. The bill would authorise them to do so, and validate any such dealings which had been carried on in the past.
