NEW ZEALANDERS' TOURS
[from our own correspondent] LONDON, Aug. 17 Miss Gwen Richards, of Auckland, is staying in County Limerick, Ireland, with Mrs. Frank Browning. On her return to London in a month she will stay with her uncle, Dr. Galway Murray, at Sussex Gardens, Hyde Park. Mrs. John Donald, of Epsom, went to Glasgow after the King's Silver Jubilee celebrations to meet her people and to renew old friendships. Tours in other parts of Scotland followed. In the middle of September, Mrs. Donald will leave for Now Zealand, after spending the last few weeks of her visit in London. Miss A. G. Kane, of Wellington, has left by the Mataroa on her way homo after three months in England, spent mainly in visiting friends. On her way to Southampton to join the vessel, Miss Kane stayed with Mrs. Popham, formerly Miss M. Douglas, of Wellington, who lives within easy motoring distance of the port. Last week Miss Kane returned from North Cornwall, where she went with Miss Winifred Isitt, formerly of Wellington. Miss Jean Horsley, of Auckland, who was designing for commercial art in a London studio until recently, gave up her work because she is returning to New Zealand in September with her sister, Mrs. S. B. Morris. Dr. Morris is going to Vienna to attend clinics to further his studios before leaving for New Zealand in November. Miss Horsley has been touring in England and Scotland. Later she will go to the Continent with friends, their programme including a motor tour through France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary. Belgium and Germany.
Miss Evelyn isitt, formerly of Wellington, who has been for a number of years on the London staff of the Manchester Guardian, has decided to make a Mediterranean cruise with the Hellenic Travellers' Club. She H*fll go overland to Venice and spend several days there before embarking. The itinerary includes Spalato, Piraeus for Athens, Delos, Thermopylae, Salonica, Mvcenae, Epidaurus, Corinth, I tea for Delphi, Katakalo for Olympia Ragusa, and back to Venice. Lectures by distinguished authors are delivered during these tours. Mr. H. V. Morton will be a member of this autumn cruise. Mrs. A. E. Kernot, Auckland, and Miss Vivienne Kernot, have returned to London from a cruise to the northern capitals of Europe. They intend to visit Ireland and Devonshire before settling down in London for the winter. Mrs. A. Walker, of Auckland, has been staying with her father at VVithernsea, East Yorkshire, and she also has been touring in Yorkshire and Scotland. At present she is visiting Mr. Walker's relatives in the vicinity of London. She has planned a short visit to Antwerp and then to return to Hull. Tn September she will begin her homeward journey. Miss Christine ,Parr is in Switzerland with friends. She will probably join Sir James Parr in Geneva when he goes there in September to attend the Assembly of the League of Nations.
