REPRESENTATIVE MATCH CONTEST WITH SOUTHLAND AUCKLAND TEAM SELECTED The Auckland Rugby representatives will play their seventh match of the season against Southland at Fden Park on Saturday. Tho Southerners appear to be improving, as, after losing narrowly to Otago, they extended Canterbury in a Ranfurly Shield match last Saturday and yesterday drew with Wellington. Mr. J. H. AUCKLAND UNION MEETING SENIOR GRADE COMPETITION I 'v i A sub-committee to investigate and report on the best method of conducting the senior grade'competition in future nensons was set up at last evening's meeting of the mnnogement committee of the Auckland' Rugby Union Messrs. A. A. Baker, E V. Sutherland, R. F. Galbrnith and S Cleal were appointed as the sub-committee. The chairman, Mr. A A Baker, reported that arrangements had been . made for an Auckland team to visit Tuakau on Saturday Mr. A. Wednesday The Wellington Colts Rugby team opened its tour of the Seddon Shield districts with a win over Golden Bay-Motueka by 27 points to 15 Wellington gained more of the boll from the scrums and the visitors' hacks were superior throughout Langdon. Spence. Hudson and Forbes were bist of a good line. Langdon opening up play hrilliantly Pringle, Wright and McLenn were the best of the visitors forwards. For the home side McGrnth was the best back, D. nnd B.
