BAND CONTEST
SOUTH AUCKLAND UNION NEXT EVENT AT HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday The annua! meeting of the South Auckland Brass Bands' Union was held in Hamilton on Monday, the Mayor, Mr, J. 11. Fow, presiding. Delegates were present from To Aroha, Thames, Pukekohe, Tauranga, Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Hamilton and Ngaruawahia. An application for affiliation was granted to the newly-formed Hamilton Citizens' Band. The question of the venue of the next contest went to the ballot, Tauranga receiving nine votes and Hamilton nine. Hamilton was decided on by the tossi of a coin. Mr. R. J. Estall, of Christchurch, was selected as judge. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. R. Fow; executive, Messrs. J. Meyer, T. Milne, A. E. Savage, R. S. Close, F. I. Crickett, S. Kemp, W. Heyes and W. G. Lovie; secretary," Mr. F. Kear; treasurer, Mr. G. Parkhouse.
