MODEL AEROPLANE'S
INTERNATIONAL EVENT A NEW ZEALAND ENTRY Sponsored by the Jit, Louia (United States) Chamber of Commerce and Publicity Bureau, a marathon model aeroplane flying contest was held at the huge St. Louis airport recently. About 300 model aeroplanes sent from as far afield as England, Canada, N<»w Zealand, France and Italy lined up for the main contest, proxiesi Hying 'the little machines where no representative had accompanied a national entry,, Seventh place was aivairdeil to the sole New Zealand entry., a machine submitted by Mr. Vernon Gray, of Auckland, through the New Zealand Model Aeroplane Association. Considering that the model was flown by a proxy probably not fully acquainted with its peculiarities it is felt by local model aeroplane enthusiastsi that' ithe high placing of the entry rdleota great credit 011 Mr. Gray.
