SEVERAL FAST GALLOPS HERITAGE'S FIVE FURLONGS PLATO AND HAUT MONDE I [by TELEGRAPH OWN correspondent] WANGANUI. Tueaduy Training conditions were ideal for this morning's operations on the Wan git nil i tracks, bright sunshine following a rather sharp frost. The outside of the course proper was used, with the stakes out about 15ft., and the going was very good. Spiral, Rust and Chief Savage did easy pace work on an inside track and then came out for a spin over seven furlongs, the first two finishing practically on terms in 1.33 3-5, with Chief Savage beaten off. The last six furlongs took v l. 17 2-5, which was quite a good effort under the circumstances, as they were not kicked right out. Heritage was two lengths ahead of Midian at the close of five furlongs in 1.3 1-5, after running the first ! three in 3G 3-os. Heritage had M. | Gilmore in the saddle and did his work | nicely all the way, while Midian also went well, and was not bustled over the last part of the journey. The Image and Abracadabra followed immediately aftei this pais l , The Image finishing a good three lengths ahead !in 1.6 2-5 Entail (W. Rayner) went four furlongs in 51 2-ss. doing it fairly oasily. Madamoiselle Qucx was three lengths in front of Corowa at the end of three furlongs, the last two of which took 25 3-ss. A really good gallop was that for which Haut Monde was responsible, the Lord Quex colt running six furlongs in 1.17 1-5, the last five in 1.4 2-5. Better than this, however, was Plato's six furlongs gallop, for the Iliad colt recorded 1.10 3-5. covering the first three in 36 4-ss, and four in 50s. Although kept up to his task throughout, Plato appeared to have something in reserve at the finish, in each instance M. Gilmore was in the saddle. Gold Gleam and All Spirit kept together over four furlongs in 50 4-ss. They are to fulfil their engagements at Marton on Saturday. Rayner's two two-year-olds were sent three furlongs, Moquctto (Rayner) finishing a neck in front of Imposture in 37 2-ss. They were striding along freely at the finish. Slippery was given strong pacework on the inside track. He does not nppoar to have suffered any ill-effects from his two strenuous efforts at New Plymouth' last week. In the afternoon F. W. Davis spurted his two juveniles over three furlongs separately, with M Gilmore in the saddle. Karl, a nice colt by .Arausio from the Leigh ton mare Sunny Hours, registered 37s for three furlongs, hitting out well Another Arausio colt.
