BREACH OF PROBATION
SIX MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT Charged with failing to comply with the terms of his release on probation, a young man, Thomas William Robinson, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Mr. W. G. Campbell, probation officer, said accused had caused considerable trouble to the authorities by his evasion of the terms of his release. Great difficulty had been experienced in learning of his whereabouts. Ho had been admitted to probation in 1932 on a charge of obtaining £4 19s 6d from Raymond Kingdon by falsely representing that a cheque for £5, drawn on the Bank of New South Wales, Karangahape Road, and signed T. W. Robinson, was n good and valid order for that amount. Mr. Campbell said the charge concerning the breach of probation would be withdrawn, the matter being ono for sentencing accused on tho original charge. A sentence of six months' imprisonment was imposed.
