The wind was easterly during the day, but it changed to the south in the evening. After being steady all day at 30.00 in] the barometer rose .10in. last : night! Midnight, Monday .. .. 30,001n, ' Wellington.—Occasional light showers were experienced yesterday morning, but the weather was mostly fair with pissing clouds and a fresh southeasterly wind. The- minimum temperature on Monday night was 38.1 degrees. The maximum yesterday was 48.8 degrees. Chriiitchurch.—The weather was fine in Christchurch yesterday. There was considerable cloud in the morning, but the afternoon was clear. A keen northeasterly breeze was blowing which kept the maximum temperature down to 47.6 degrees. The barometer was steadv at 30.3 din. last evening. Dunedin.—There was continuation of fine, sunny weather yesterday.
