HIGH COMMISSIONER SIR J. PARR'S POSITION ANOTHER YEAR OF OFFICE TRIBUTES TO SERVICES PRAISE IIY MR. FORBES [JIY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] WELLINGTON, Friday A year's extension of Sir James Parr's term as High Commissioner for New Zealand in London was announced to-day by the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes. Sir James would normally retiro from the position at the end of this year, but he has been offered and has accepted an extension until December 31, 1936. Mr. Forbes stated he was very glad that Sir Janes had been ablo to see bis way to continue in office for this further period, especially as in all probability ho would bo called upon from time to time to deal with matters relating to the Dominion's primary produce. Sir James had been closely associated with Mr. Ooates and himself during the course of the moat negotiations in London recently and had shown that he was possessed of a very full knowledge and a good grip of the situation.

"Many official and representative people whom I met in London," continued the Prime Minister, "paid high tributes to the work which Sir James had been performing and to the able and efficient services which he was rendering in London. I also had an opportunity of judging this for myself when in England and I have nothing but praise for the manner in which Sir James is discharging the duties of this very important office. I thinft the Government has cause for gratification that they have been successful in securing his services for a further term."
