FESTIVAL OF DRAMA
FULL PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED LIST OF CHOSEN PLAYS Tho full progritmmo for the third Auckland Festival of Community Drama, to bo held from September 16 to 23, has been announced. "Tbe Eternal Door," which was to have been presented by tho Auckland Catholic Repertory Society Reading Circle, has been withdrawn. On tho first night threo plays will bo presented, "A Sordid story" (J. Coppard), Auckland University College; an extract from "Hamlet," tho As You Like It Club; and "A Little Bit of j Life" (Gwynne Peacocke), tho Penwomen's Drama Circle Programmes for tho following nights aro:— September 17, "Women at War" (Edward Percy), the Auckland Girls' Grammar School Old Girls' Dramatic Club; "Little Glafis Houses" (Philip Johnson and Howard Agg), tho Victoria League Entertainment Circle; "The Tomb of Od" (J. Coppard), the Experimental Theatro Society; "Widdicombe Fair," tho Live Art Society. September 18, "Tho Sister Who Walked in Silenco" (Philip Johnson), the Georgian Readers; "Tho Impostor" (11. Scott), Waiuku Dramatic Club; "The Whirlwind Blows" (EsseV; Dane), tho New Women's Club; "Wild Man from Africa" (K. M. Harvey), Harston College Dramatic Circle. September 19, "Woatherwiso" (Noel Coward), Mount Albert Grammar j School; extract from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream," the As You Like It Club; "Tho Flaw in tho Amber" (Ethel Schmitt), the Lyceum Club Drama Circle September 20, "The Patchwork Quilt" (Rachel Lyman Field), the New Women's Club; "Tho House with the Twisty Windows" (Mary Pakington), the Victoria League Dramatic Club; "Room 83" (Helen Parker), the Winchenden Players. September 21, "In the Shadow of "the Glen" (J. M. Synge), the Playhouse Players: a play to be selected by tho Auckland Amateur Operatic Society; "There Is No Return" (Erie Bradwell), the Talbot Players; "Campbell of Kilmohr (Ferpusson), Waikato Diocesan Hich School Dramatic Circle.
The announcements of results in all sections will bo made on Saturday, September 21. On the afternoon of that day several plays in the juvenile section will be presented Cups and certificates will be presented on Monday, September 23, when a special performance will be given by the winning teams.
