BACK FROM THE DEAD

Brought back from the dead, after attempts to revive his heart-boats had failed, a man has resumed work as a stoker at Birkenhead Municipal Hospital, England, where his operation took place. He is Alfred Aspden, aged 40, an ex-naval man, of Rock Ferry During an operation he collapsed, and artificial respiration was immediately started. Adrenalin was injected without result. After three minutes a second injection was given, and within 30 seconds the pulso restarted. The surgeon, writing in the British Medical Journal, mentions that on two previous occasions he was successful in restoring cardiac action, but in neither case did the patient recover.
