26 CHARGES ADMITTED ANOTHER ALLEGED OFFENCE [by TKLEGKArn OWN CORRESPONDENT] NEW PLYMOUTH. Friday Twenty-eight charges of theft were brought against a husband and wife and another man in the Police Court yesterday. Tho articles involved, which were of a total value of £GO, ranged from deck chairs to clothing and utensils. One of the charges of theft from a dwelling was an indictable charge. Pleas of guilty were entered in respect to 26 charges. Mr. Woodward, S.M., said ho would announce on Saturday his decision whether counsel's application for probation would be granted. He would also decide whether the indictable charge should be reduced so that it could be dealt with summarily. The names of accused were suppressed in the meantime. One of the charges—that relating to the theft of a spanner—was dismissed.
