SNOW AT CHATEAU
FUBTHEE HEAVY FALL PROSPECTS FOR SKI SPORTS PROMISE OF FINE WEATHER PLOUGH USED ON ROAD [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTERI THE CHATEAU, Monday A further fall of snow commenced late last night and continued steadily throughout the night. It became, if anything, heavier this morning. The snow was not accompanied by wind, and a thick coating on the roofs and trees made a beautiful picture. There is an additional covering several inches on top of the snow lying round the Chateau. Rain fell on the lower levels this afternoon, but it snowed at the ski-ing grounds until the sky cleared toward evening, giving a promise of fine weather for the start of the Ruapohu Ski Club's sports to-morrow. The snow plough was again used on the road above the-Chateau to-day, and further progress was made, but it is doubtful if vehicles will be able to use it for any distance for several days. As in past years, an emergency committee, comprising representatives of various clubs, has been set up to deal with any accidents which may occur.
