TAXICABS COLLIDE
ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS BOTH VEHICLES DAMAGED Remarkable escapes from injury were experienced by three persons involved in a serious traffic accident shortly after noon on Saturday, when two taxicabs collided at the junction of Khyber Pass Road and Crowhurst Street, Newmarket. A Checker cab, driven by Mr. J. S. Metcalfe, of Empire Hoad, Epsom, nnd carrying a passenger, had travelled down Khyber Pass Pond from the direction of Symonds Street, and was turning into Crowhurst Street when it collided with a Black and White cab, proceeding up Khyber Pass Hoad from Broadway, Newmarket. The second vehicle was driven by Mr. E Harris of Harbutt Uoad, Mount Albert. Both vehicles were extensively damaged, and were removed by breakdown trucks. Tho occupants of the cars received a severe shaking, but were not injured.
