DANCE AT KUMEU

A plain and fancy dress ball in aid of tho Kumeu Show Society's funds was held in tho Kumeu Hall recently. The supper arrangements were in the charge of a committee headed by Mrs. W. B. Patterson, while the judge of the fancy costumes was Mrs. N'ello Porter, of Auckland. The following awards were made: Best fancy costumes, Mrs. A. Baldwin, of Hobsonvillo (Eastern queen), and Mr. J. D. Brown, of Waitakero (desert chief); most original costumes, Miss f. M. King, of Waitakero (golliwog), and Mr. D. Kerr Taylor, of Waimauku (Micawber); consolation prizes, Mr. Walton Malins and Miss I. Chitty, of Auckland.
