Wiljiams, who was drowned in the Waikato Rher a Hamilton when trying to save the life of Miss Daisy Hislop last Tuesday. - As i* token of respect to the memory of Constable Williams, members of the Marist Football Club, with whom he had been associated, wore black arm bands when playing on Saturday. \ The part Constable Williams had plaved in promoting boxing was referred to by Mr. A. J. Williamson, of Auckland, president of the Northern Boxing Club, at the Waikato Boxiug Association's championship contests on Saturday evening. At his suggestion, the 300 patrons stood as a mark of respect.
