CABLES AND WIRELESS
REDUCTION OF CAPITAL STOCKHOLDERS APPROVE LONDON, Aug. 16 At & meeting of stockholders in Cables and Wireless (Holding), Limited, the proposed reduction of the capital was approved. The governor, Mr. J. O. DenisonPender, said he was applying to the Courts for sanction after the long vacation. Ho hoped to make a distribution before the end of the year. It was announced on May 26 by the governor and joint managing director of Cables and Wireless (Holding), Limited, Mr. J. C. Denison-Pender, that it had been decided to repay at par one-third of the company's £23,000.000 preference capital. Mr. Denison-Pender explained that this was part of the scheme for the reconstruction of the capital.
