OFFENCE BY WOMAN A charge of stealing a pair of ladies' stockings valued at 2s lid, tho property of a city firm, was admitted by Florence Kato Turner, aged 51, a domestic, in the Police Court before Mr. TVyvern Wilson, S.M., on Saturday morning. Sub-Inspector Fox stated that a floor superintendent at tho store saw accused take the pair of stocking and put them in her kit. Ho accosted her and while he was taking her to tho office she made an unsuccessful attempt to elude him. She later admitted the theft. An application to have accused mentally examined was made by her husband and tho magistrate accordingly remanded accused for sentence.
