EXCURSIONS POPULAR
MANY RAILWAY TRAVELLERS In spite of the postponement of the Rngbv match between Auckland and the Maori team on Saturday, the week-end excursion train from Wellington was exceptionally well patronised, practically every seat being taken. About 636 passengers travelled by the train, which reached Auckland on Saturday morning, and left again yesterday afternoon. A large number of the passengers came to Auckland to watch the North Island final of the Chatham Cup Association football competition between Ponsonbv and Hospital (Wellington). Very heavy bookings for the train were made bv Soccer supporters a considerable time in advance. An excursion train from Taneatua also was: well filled, about 273 passengers arriving by it. To enable country residents to visit the city for the Rugby match between Auckland and the Maori team next Saturday, an excursion train will leave Kotorua late 011 Friday night. A train from To Kniti will connect with it. The excursionists will leave again on the return journey at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday.
