IRELAND'S FUTURE
Sir, —We quite appreciate the fact that the correspondence has drifted far from the original intentions of Mr. G. W. Blair, and as he declares that he will not continue it any further, we may conclude by summarising what we have proved by facts and figures. We have shown: —(1) That President de Valera has a clear and constitutional plan for a free and independent Ireland; (2) that his policy is constructive. because (a) since 3932 many (307); new industries have been established. (b) agriculture has had a new impetns, (c) social relief has been successfully reorganised, (d) imports have been reduced, Ce) the home market has been developed, (f) expenditure has been curtailed; (3) that the only salvation for the six counties is reunion with the rest of Ireland. We have asked Mr. Blair to quote facts > and figures, but he has failed to do so. He states that the six counties have mid £25.000.000 to the Imperial Exchequer. Since the introduction of the 1920 Act the .Jorthern :Parliament should have paid Evidentlv figures still mean nothing tu Mr. Blair. The Secretart, Irish National Society, Auckland.
