LOUIS BEATS LEVINSKY QUICK END TO BOUT (Received August 8, 5.5 p.m.) CHICAGO. Aur. 7 Joe Louis, the negro boxer who recently defeated Camera, advanced his claim this evening as the chief contender for the heavy-weight championship, when he defeated "King" Levinsky on a technical knock-out in 2 minutes 21 seconds. ' The bout only lasted one round. After a few seconds of wild "milling" Louis, using short right blows to the jaw, knocked down his opponent four times. Levinsky weighed 14st. If lb. and Louis 14st. 2jlb. There were 40,000 spectators.
