AIR TRUNK ROUTE
ACTION BY THE BOARD REQUEST TO CITY COUNCIL A request was received by the City Council last night from Mr. T. S. Withers, on behalf of Aviation Development, Limited, and Great Pacific Airways (N.Z.), Limited, that the council should, if possible, be represented at a public sitting of the Transport Co-ordination Board, to be held in Wellington on August 19, to saopen the question of tho exclusion of Palmerston North from tho AucklandDunedin air route. Mr. Withers also asked the council to express its disapproval of tho recent action of tho board in dealing with the matter at a private sitting, instead of at a*public sitting, as provided by the Act. The rnabter was referred to the Finanus GtoraHrittee with power to act.
