LONDON VALUES HIGHER SHARPEST MOVE. FOR MONTHS The London market for cheese shows a sharp advance and prices for New Zealand aro about Is per cwt. higher at up to 47s per cwt. The market is firm. Cheese values havo risen about Is 6d per cwt. in the past two days, which is the largest movement shown for some months. Butter is quoted at 945, unchanged. Merchants have received the following cablegrams, dated August 7, from their London principals:— Mr. L. McCartney, from Henry A. Lane and Company, Limited. —Cheese: White, 475; coloured, 465. The market, advanced suddenly. Butter: 945; stored,' 935. The market is firm. Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. —Butter: 91s. The market is quiet. The market is firm WELLINGTON WOOLLEN • DIVIDEND MAINTAINED A net profit of £16,498, compared with £16,946 in the previous year, was earned by the. Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Company, Limited, for the year ended June 30. The directors recommend a final dividend of 2i per cent, making 5 per cent., unchanged, for the year. Dividends absorb £15,000, leaving £7231 to be carried forward, against £5733 brought into the accounts. Expenditure on new buildings amounted to £16,654, and £6OOO was provided for depreciation.
