FURTHER ADJOURNMENT REQUEST BY ACCUSED [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] PUKEKOHE, Thursday On a charge of stealing goods valued at £1 19s, the property of the Farmers' Trading Company, Limited, at Pokeno on May 14, Don Redolph Melhose again appeared in the Pukekohe Police Court yesterday, before Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M. The hearing had been adjourned from July 24 at the request of accused. A former manager of the Pokeno store, R. S. Naylor, was called as a witness by accused. He said he could not remember .having sold any of the articles in Court to accused. Accused then requested a further month's adjournment. "The features of the case indicate a certain amount of guilt," said Mr. Levien. "It is too great a coincidence that the goods found in your possession were exactly the same in quantity and description as were in a parcel which was removed." _ , . An adjournment until September 3 was granted.
