COMMUNITY SUNSHINE
The monthly nicotine: of the Takapuna branch of the Community Sunshine Association, held in tho Belmont Presbyterian Sunday School Hall yestorday, took tho form of a social afternoon. Mrs. J. C. Blom field presided over a large gathering of members and friends. She opened .'JO parcels of articles made of cretonne which had been donated for the benefit of tho association's work. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. Blomfield, Mrs. J. Schultz, Mrs. Hoys ton and Mrs. Salmon, who had assisted at the Sunshine stall at the recent Auckland winter Show. The takings wero £6 7s. Musical items wero Riven by Mrs. West and Mrs. Gerrard, while two amusing competitions were won by Mrs. Buckley and Mrs. Armstrong. Tho prizes were donated by Mrs. J. Schultz and Mrs. Hoyson. Tho hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. J. Schultz, Mrs. McCarthy, Mrs. Cahill, Mrs. Hoyson, Mrs. W. Verran and Miss Hardwick. Community singing closed a very pleasant afternoon.
