STRIKE AT VANCOUVER

SHIP'S CARGO NOT LOADED Owing to tho waterfront strike at Vancouver, tho steamer Haiiraki, which arrived from Pacific Coast ports yesterday, did not load there. She arrived at Vancouver on Juno 16, and was lying at anchor during tho serious riot on Juno 18. She did not berth until after tho departure of the Aorangi, which arrived here early last month. Tho vessel berthed at the O.P.R. Pier, which is a considerable distanco from tho wharves where trouble was experienced, and conditions there were little different from usual. It was decided only to discharge tho small amount of Vancouver cargo on board, however, and no cargo was loaded. Tho Hauraki lefb the pier again within a few hours, and lay at anchor until Juno 24, when, as there was no sign of tho striko ending, sho left for other Pacific Coast ports to load.
