ONE DAY FOR ELECTIONS [by telegraph—owx correspondent] TE AROHA, Thursday The effect of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment' Act, 1934-35, upon drainage board elections was the subject of a recent inquiry by the Thames Valley Drainage Jioard. A reply from the under-Secrctary of Internal Affairs states that in future all Drainage Board elections will be held on tho second Wednesday in May every third year, commencing in May, 1938. This means that all Drainage Board elections hitherto hold on varying dates will be synchronised throughout the country. Unless extraordinary circumstances arise, for which provision is made in tho amending Act, present trustees and members will hold ofiico until May, 1938. '
