AUCKLAND CLUB'S MEETING LOSS OF THE PRESIDENT Feeling reference to the loss the Auckland Bowing Club has sustained by the death of the president. Mr. George R. Hogan, was made by Mr. R. Porter, who presided at the 66th annual general meeting of the club on Thursday evening, nnd a motion of sympathy was passed to the late Mr. Hogan's relatives, the members standing in silence In referring to the club 8 activities, Mr« Porter congratulated the members on the progress made during the winter months. Although many difficulties had been experienced last season, the members had remained loyal to the club. Activities, however, would start this year with much brighter prospects—increased membership, and a keen set of officials, one and all anxious to uphold the fine traditions of the club. Mr. Porter tendered much useful advice on club affairs, the sport of rowing and training, that should prove beneficial to the officers and members. . It was decided to open the season with an old members' day. Votes of thanks were accorded the secretary, auditor and supporters, who rendered much valuable service last year, also to Messrs. Maben and Porter for the use of their office for meetings. The election of officers resulted as fol lows:—President, to be _ elected later; commodore, Mr. H. Schmidt; vice-commo-dore, Mr. "W. S. Pratt; vice-presidents, same as last year, with the addition of Hon. E. R. Drummond. Messrs. A. M. Doull. C. H. McCormick, O. L. Fletcher, H. J. Pfister, M. O. Stewart; captain, Mr. G. Oxspring; deputy-captain. . Mr v A. G. Fisher; hon. secretary, Mr. 'J. N. Otway; hon. assistant secretary, Mr. R. Leabourn; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. T. Jellie: executive committfee, Messrs. R. Porter, R. P. Wilson. W. A. Baverstock. J. Guiniven; hon. solicitor, Professor R. M. Algie; hon. auditors, Messrs. C. H. Battley, D. L. Robinson; delegates to Auckland Rowing Association. Messrs. A.
