PERRY AND FILM STAR

RUMOURS OF ENGAGEMENT TENNIS CHAMPION'S DENIAL LONDON. July 16 In reply to week-end rumours that he is engaged to Miss Helen Vinson, an American actress at present working in English film studios, F. J. Perry, the world's tennis champion, said: "We are not engaged. We are just friends." Miss Vinson said: "Anything is possible." Perry and Miss Vinson were at Eastbourne yesterday, smiling and obviously interested in each other. They met in Hollywood and arrived in London by the same ship. Miss Vinson flew to Brussels when Perry was playing there and accompanied him back by aeroplane. They celebrated Perry's Wimbledon success together and have been to many theatres and parties.
