THAMES AMALGAMATION
BOROUGH AND HARBOUR ADVISORY COMMITTEE' MEETS <. [BY TEI/EGBAFH-—OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES. Friday A special meeting of the Thames Borough Advisory Committee was held yesterday, the Mayor, Mr. S. Ensor, presiding. The question of the proposed amalgamation of the Thames Harbour Board with the Borough Council was considered. Proceedings were not open to the press. The committee, it was reported, subsequently had under consideration the conditions of the merger, which Mr. W. Nash, M.P., had suggested in his circular letter to the holders of debentures of the harbour board. It was resolved that the board be asked to meet the advisory committee in Conference after the next meeting of the hoard, for the purpose of considering the proposed amalgamation, with a view to arriving, if possible, at an agreement before the representatives proceeded to the suggested conference at Wellington. The committee drafted certain proposals which will bo submitted to the board.
