The winter fixture of the Mann-, watu Racing Club at Awapnni is the niost important and as the fields are of good size there should be somo very interesting contests. " it. Petrarch (A. W. McDonald) was the only horse to essay the big fences in the centre of the oval, jumping two post and rail fences and the brush double. The Arausio gelding jumped fast and cleanly, and his owner, Mr. L. H. Collinson, has now decided to start him in tho Jubilee Hunt Cup. HAWKE'S BAY HORSES 1 TEN LEAVE FOR AWAPUNI [by telegraph—own correspondent] HASTINGS, Friday The following horses left the Hawke's Bay district for Awapuni today:— Tidal Song, Dozie, Prosy Boy, Royal Feast, Windward, Celerrimus, Padishah, Slippery, Unexpected and Tres Sec. «' If the going is fairly good, Mr. C. E. Twist will start botn Dozio and Prosy Boy in the Jubilee Hunt Cup, but if it is heavy only Prosy Boy will contest this event. Royal Feast was a little tucked up after his two hard races at Trentham, but in his final gallop before leaving Hastings lie Went well over half a mile m Ms on a heavy track. Windward can safely bo said to be back to his very best, which ineans that, the Gainscourt gelding should run prominently, for he is known to handle holding tracks well.
