FINE PROGRAMME CHOSEN A programme of unusual musical inj terest has been arranged for the ! secondary schools' concert, to bo given | in tho Town Hall on August 21, under I the auspices of the Auckland Socioty of ; Musicians. Eleven schools will talco part, and in the massed items thero will bo a choir of 450 voices. Professor H, E. Hollinrako, whose work at primary schools' concerts two or three years ago was so noteworthy, will be in charge. Tho massed numbers will include Handels' " Through All Our Pains and Trials," in which Mr. Len Barnes will be soloist; two folk songs, " Blow Away tho Morning Dew " and " Hob y Dcrri Dando;" a madrigal, by Thomas Walker; a humorous sally, '• The Frog," by E. Newton; and two modern songs, " Let All tho World " (E. T. Chapman) and " I Vow-to Thee, My Country " (Hoist). v Tito St. Stephen's College Maori bo.ys, the Sacred Heart College choir, St. Cuthbert's Collego and Hill Top school will contribute individual items, and massed songs a»d ( poi -dances will be given by tho Queen Victovia School for j Maori Girls In addition, the Auck ! land Boys' Grammar Sohool hand will \ play, and three interesting number's, " Bourree " (Handel), " Impromptu " (Scriabin), and "Sailor's Dance" (Dunhill), will bo played by the Epsom Girls' Grammar School orchestra.
